Katie's Friend

Katie has been able to catch flies almost since she learned how to walk. She still catches them and calls them her friends. She caught this one this morning and wanted to give it to me. I don't share her love for flies so I told her she could keep it.

Free Day at the Zoo

Yesterday was a free day at the Denver zoo and for some crazy reason I thought that would make it a good day to go! The weather was perfect, it had to be close to 70 degrees in Denver, but everyone in the state of Colorado had the same great idea! It was sooooo crowded that I think I'd rather pay double and go when there isn't as many people!

Katie's favorite part of the zoo, the MAP! She liked to find the animals on the map and tell us which way we should go.

Tucker in his cave.
Pat and Michelle took the boys out of school and met us there. Pat had a wonderful time, I think he would have stayed till they closed if we would have let him!

You have to get a picture by the Polar Bear! I think I have pics of John and me by this when we first started dating. I will have to try and find them.

I know not the best pics, but my kids would not stay put!

Can you see their hair? Too funny! As you can see they were really impressed with the Zoo!

One of two times I let Charlotte out of the stroller. She loved the ..... water.... there was nothing in there! The Polar Bears would tease everyone by going to the edge and getting a drink, but they didn't jump in while we were there.

Play Date

I met up with Molly and Tamera last week for a play date at Flatirons. Our girls are all about the same age and played really well together.

Katie, Kyla, Natalie and Carley

Poor Barrett is the only boy in the group! He didn't seem to mind though.

The play date was definitely a success!

Sent With Love

I send Katie and now Charlotte a Valentine every year through the Loveland remailing program so they get the cute little cachet stamped on them. I usually write them a little letter and include pictures of them. I don't let them open them, I just put them away in hopes of giving them to them someday when they are all grown up. These are from the last three years, we haven't got the one with this years stamp on it yet but I will be sure and post a picture of it when we do.

The City of Love

Charlotte, Katie and I went into Loveland today mainly to get milk, but I took the camera along hoping to get some good pictures for their annual Valentine. By the time we got to the park it was getting kind of cold, so I had to put hats on them even though they had the cutest little bows in their hair! We didn't stay too long and they wanted to play more than they wanted to pose for pictures. They are the weirdest kids! I got some that I can work with at least. Here are a couple I played with in Photoshop.

Surprise!

We had a surprise 60th birthday party for my Mom this weekend at John and Vanessa's house. I don't know how we pulled it off but I think my Mom was actually surprised! If I can figure out how to load a video clip I will try to put the "Surprise" moment on here. Thank you Michelle and Wendy for sharing these great pictures!

Darlene made this beautiful and delicious cake! It was three layers, chocolate, coconut and cherry chip if I remember right. The little picture on top is one of the team pictures from their softball days.

Jeana, Mom Charlotte and me towards the end of the night. I don't know how Charlotte was still awake but she was a trooper and lasted the whole night.

Mom's Flowers

Here is a little collage I did of my Mom's flowers for her birthday.
