Another Party

We went to Denver today for my cousin Cassie's graduation party.

Katie had on a cute little dress but insisted on wearing her bee costume over the top of it so that Aunt Linda and Uncle Albert could see how cute she was! It was 80 degrees and she kept this furry bee costume on all day!

Charlotte did venture off the blanket and into the grass but she is still not very impressed. She would balance on her tummy so that her bare legs and arms wouldn't touch it!

Imagination

Tonight Katie put on John's hat and said she was Daddy and he was Katie Jean. Then she had to turn on a cartoon for Katie Jean because little girls don't like TV they like cartoons. I had to run and try and catch her to take a picture of her in John's hat. She was hiding in the toy room here.

I thought this was a funny picture of Charlotte! Check out those long eye lashes! BYTW this post is happening at 2:00 in the morning thanks to Charlotte's lovely new sleeping patterns. That's right, she is wide awake right now. I'm sure as soon as she goes to sleep Katie will wake up, they like taking turns. I don't know what is wrong with the clock on my computer or how I have the blog set up, I know the post says 12:45 or something but trust me it is 2:02 AM!!!

Happy Girls

I can’t even remember what made Katie make this face. Maybe she was mad at me for not fixing her hair! Actually I think a pop coo coo (Popsicle) might have been involved or the lack of one. She loves her pop coo coos and would eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Maybe I should start making broccoli pop coo coos.

This is Charlotte’s new preferred method of drinking. No bottle, no nursing, just a straw. I guess it works for me. We have a bunch of straws because Mom had quite the supply leftover from the restaurant.

Last night she did actually drink a whole bottle at about 3:30 in the morning. It was a rough night! I'm not sure if she is teething or getting a cold but she was fussy fussy. I actually put ear plugs in my ears because she kept screaming so loud. I was holding her when I had the ear plugs in! I didn't just put them in set her in her bed go to sleep and let her scream! I just needed a little sound buffer in order not to go insane. Finally I put a baby Einstein video in and that calmed her down that was at about midnight. She slept for a little while after that and then was up again. I think I ended up playing that video like 5 times because it was the only thing that would calm her down. Poor little girl! After she drank the bottle she fell right to sleep and she is actually still sleeping.

Glow In The Dark

Aunt Michelle gave Katie some glow in the dark nail polish. It is a real light pink with sparkles in it and in the dark it's a bright green. It is really fun! Although Katie tried to use the whole bottle last night, she probably had at least 20 coats on her thumb nail!

We went to some graduation parties this weekend so Charlotte got a chance to wear one of her cute dresses!

Wyatt's Birthday

Yesterday was Wyatt's 10th birthday!
Happy Birthday Wyatt!

Wyatt, Tucker and Barry.

Wyatt, Miah and Barry. Notice Barry seems happy taking a picture with the boys.

Hmmm note the change in attitude once Katie is in the picture. This about sums up their relationship lately. Katie wants to be Barry's friend and Barry wants her as far away from him as possible. They are too funny!

Aaron was trying to get Charlotte to walk, but she wasn't very excited about it.

Thanks Jacque and Christi

I wasn't going to post this picture, cause I think I need to play with it a little more, but Jacque and Christi both liked it so here it is. Thanks for the vote of confidence girls! This is one of those shots that you couldn't have posed if you wanted to. I was taking pictures of Charlotte and Katie just happened to stop there to pick flowers.

Haircut

Katie getting her haircut on the pink elephant chair.
I was trying to get a cute picture of her and her new hairstyle, but I guess she wanted a picture of her lollipop. This is what i usually get whenever I try to take a picture of her.

My attempt at posing the girls for a picture, didn't exactly work as planned. I also played with it a bit in photoshop using a little how to that I read about on another blog. I'm not sure if I like it or not. I did the same thing on another picture of the three of us and I really liked it. hmmm.

I just had to post this picture of Charlotte, the look on her face just cracks me up!

Those Two Little Teeth Hurt!

I know first hand now that Charlotte's two little teeth hurt! I won't get into the details, but I'm sure you can guess how I know. So if anyone has any suggestions on how to get her to stop biting I would really appreciate it.

This is Charlotte after she bit me. I yelled "NO ", and set her down on the floor and walked away. This didn't make her very happy, but I think that's the point.

Katie wanted me to take a picture of her boodiful flowers, and this is how she held them up for me. No matter where I tried to get her to hold them they always ended up here.

Don't let this sweet smile fool you!

Our First Sibling Fight

I don't have pictures of it, but we had our first little fight today between the girls. Charlotte had one of Katie's toys and Katie took it away from her. Bad idea! Charlotte gets very mad when you take something she likes away. I don't know how she managed it, since she can't even crawl on her hands and knees yet and Katie has the ability to run, but Charlotte bit Katie on the hand. I heard Charlotte scream and looked over and Katie was crying. "She bit me!" "She bit me!" I thought , how bad could she have bit her? Then I looked and there were two perfect little teeth marks in Katie's hand! Thank goodness no blood! The marks went away pretty fast and as soon as they were gone Katie was happy. I guess I don't have to worry about Charlotte , she can take care of herself. Doesn't she look like a force to be reckoned with?

Maybe this was the problem, Katie couldn't run away with my big shoes on her feet!

Strike a Pose

I thought this was a cute picture of Charlotte. Doesn't she look like she is a model giving the camera her best pout face? I had to put the leg warmers on her to help her poor knees from getting so red.
I'm not sure what look she is giving here, it's almost an Elvis lip curl, but not quite.
Katie was very happy with her red ice cream popsicle thing, better known at a creamsicle. This is the first time I think she has worn her pink cowboy hat, isn't it cute? It was her Easter basket.
This picture is of Katie throwing a fit because I'm taking a picture of her instead of pushing her. It was taken right before I did go push her and she did a complete back flip off of the swing. I guess I do not know the proper way to push someone on the swing because right as I did it she turn back to tell me I was doing it wrong, let go with one hand and did a little back flip. I don't think I will ever get the image of her flipping like that out of my head. Luckily she landed on her hands and knees and not her head! She is fine, not a scrape on her. However Katie and Daddy had to give me a lesson on the proper swing protocol.

Not a Big Fan of Grass!

Apparently Charlotte is not a big fan of grass. When I tried to set her down she pulled her feet way up and then started screaming as soon as I sat her down. Katie didn't like grass either at this age.

Katie and I found some sort of purple flower in our grass. It was a pretty little flower so of course Katie had to pick it. Notice the nice tattoos, you would think they would have more kid friendly tattoos in those little bubble gum machine things. I'm not sure if the skull with the sword through the eye is appropriate for a 2 year old, but I don't think she understands what it is yet. Yes she does have on her furry boots and shorts.

Front Porch Fun

After church and a trip to visit Grandpa and Grandma we all played outside on the front porch for a while this afternoon.

Charlotte wasn't about to stay inside if we were all outside!

I hate to call my precious daughter bossy, but this is her telling the birds to fly down and eat the Cheerios that were on the deck. She wasn't very happy when they didn't listen to her.

Grandma's House

I realize that the day 1, 2, 3 thing was a little unnecessary since they date of the post does automatically show up so I guess I will stop.

Today the girls stayed with Grandma while I went to see Made of Honor with Christi and Melissa. I thought it was good, but I love a good romantic comedy and Patrick Dempsey. I don't even want to admit how many times I've watched Can't Buy Me Love!

After the movie we played at Grandma's for a while. Katie had her little camo hat on and was playing in the pond while Mom and I were trying to clean it out. John, Vanessa and Hannah showed up to visit and John and Hannah both had camo hats on too so we decided to capitalize on the photo opportunity!

We wanted to get a picture of all three girls with their hats (Charlotte borrowed John's) in the sand box, but Charlotte started crying as soon as her little feet touched the sand.

Katie said that this is her hunting hat for when she goes hunting with her Daddy, but I talked her into wearing it to keep the sun off her face today.

I think John and Vanessa said that this is Hannah's boating hat and they were cleaning the boat out today.

Katie and Hannah are so cute together. They love to walk around holding hands and they are always so excited to see each other. I'm so glad that Katie has a little girl cousin to play with!

After a long day at Grandma's we made one more stop to see Uncle Albert's baby bunnies.

Hannah wasn't too sure about holding the baby bunny, but she gave it a try.

Day 3

Charlotte finally giving up and falling asleep. I had to get a picture because I have several of Katie asleep in this high chair.

Charlotte was a Momma's girl today, she didn't want me to put her down. I had fun holding her all day, since most days she is pretty independent.

Katie playing in the "other green truck with the oven in it" as she calls it, better known as the camo camper. It is her new favorite place to play with Daddy when he gets home from work. They make pies, which I'm sure John loves!

Today Katie spent a good deal of the day playing with her "magic" friends, Ginia, Junior and some other ones that didn't have names. Last night Daddy was in big trouble for putting his feet on Ginia who was apparently sitting on the couch.

Digital Scrapbook

My first attempt at a digital scrapbook page. I'm not sure what to do now, but here it is! I think legally I need to say "Kit created by Lori Barnhurst of LittleDreamerDesigns" here. Because obviously I didn't design this I just simply edited the picture of Charlotte and put it in the template. I think this might be less time consuming than regular scrapbooking for me, especially if I ever get a high speed internet connection!

Sweet Potato Puffs

Charlotte enjoying some sweet potato puffs! She put one on her head and it looked like a little barrette in her hair! She likes the sweet potato puffs but she prefers Cheerios! At least that's my assumption judging by the amount of puffs that end up on the floor compared to the amount of Cheerios.

Day 2

Today we went to visit Aunt Linda, Cora and Grandma followed by a oh so fun trip to the grocery store. After a long day this is usually how we arrive home. Both asleep in their car seats. Sometimes I'm tempted to stay in the car and take a nap too.

Day 1

Charlotte and Katie seem to be changing so much from day to day that I thought I might try and take a picture and blog about them every day. We'll see how long I last!Katie on the front deck with one sock on as usual. I don't know how she stands to only have one sock on, but she seems to like it. She got in trouble today for going to visit our neighbor, who was outside in her yard, without telling mommy. We had just been over there getting some chives from her so I guess Katie though that it was ok to go visit any time she wants. Since we don't have fences it's kind of hard to tell who's yard is who's for a 2 year old. Maybe we will have to have a little lesson in boundaries today.

Charlotte eating her favorite snack, cheerios, and trying to peek around the camera to see me. She crawls/scoots around the house now using one arm and one leg. If you walk up behind her she gets very excited and tries to go faster like she is going to out run you! Every once in a while she will get up on all fours and rock back and forth so I know crawling is just around the corner. She is ten months old today! What a big girl, I just can't believe how fast time goes by.
This picture was taken on Monday after Katie opened a box of goodies from Grandma and Aunt Sharon. She had to try on the dress, gloves and hat they sent right away!

Do They Look Alike?

Everyone is always telling me they look alike so I thought I would post pictures of them at about the same age.
Time to vote! Do you think they look alike? Can you tell which one is Charlotte and which one is Katie?

Spring Flowers

I'm so excited about my daffodils! This is the first year they have bloomed.

These are Katie's favorite flowers. She doesn't pay any attention to my daffodils or Mom's tulips she loves her "yellow flowers"!

Mom's tulips.
